Medical blepharoplasty

Dermatochalasis is a skin condition of the upper eyelid characterised by excess skin affecting both the upper palpebral fold and the free edge of the eyelashes. It leads to an ageing of the patient’s eyes and can reduce the visual field through skin or eyelash ptosis.

In recent years, non-surgical medical techniques for rejuvenating the upper eyelid have emerged as an alternative to exclusive surgical blepharoplasty.

This technique uses a point-by-point coagulation system to retract the skin without the risk of damaging the eye.

An anaesthetic cream is applied 45 minutes before the treatment.

The after-effects are usually marked by oedema and erythema, with bedsores falling off after several days. There is some dyspigmentation, which resolves in a few months. The patient should be informed of these after-effects during the consultation so that he or she can take the necessary measures, both professional (one day’s leave from work) and personal (post-operative photo-protection and avoiding the sun).

Immediate results after plasma.
